Happy Holidays with North Pole in a Bowl

The lovely season is upon us! Wishing you happiness, love and joy!

If you are wondering what this could be, you will find out in a little bit.

One evening the girls got restless, hovering around the kitchen wanting to make a dessert for themselves. I was busy and made it clear that I could not help, so they stayed away from baking. But they had their conditions too; I was barred from walking into the kitchen until they got done.

This is what they came up with:) – “North Pole in a Bowl”.

I found it too cute not to post. It is appropriate for the holidays too.ย  The dessert was made and hidden well way at the back of the shelves in the refrigerator until ready to eat. (The photographs do not do justice as I took them for memories and not for the blog.ย  They had no patience for any photographs at that time.)

It is a totally kiddy dessert with marshmallows, chocolate, candies and candy canes. In this merry season we can all enjoy a bite of this!

Have a jolly happy season!

North Pole in a Bowl

Ingredients:

  1. mini marshmallows
  2. semi sweet/or bittersweet chocolate, chopped – make sure you have enough to hold the marshmallows together
  3. crushed candy canes
  4. M&M’s and Nerds or whatever candy you want in there

Method:

Combine marshmallows, crushed candy canes, and candies.

Melt chocolate in a microwave safe bowl. Stir until shiny and smooth. Drizzle over theย  marshmallow mix, quickly toss for the melted chocolate to be evenly distributed on all marshmallows. They do not have to be entirely covered, though if you want you can do that too. There should be enough melted chocolate to hold the marshmallows in clumps which can be broken off later.

Cover and refrigerate and chill until the chocolate is firm and holds the marshmallow mix in clumps.

Break off chunks and serve.

Enjoy!
