This is another traditional Bengali recipe. Eggplants are lightly sauteed and then cooked in the creamy poppy seed paste. It is amazingly simple and flavorful. This happens to be one of those dishes where no spices are required.
The fruits bowls are from my backyard – yes the cantaloupes. We harvested about eight cantaloupes this year; not a lot but the garden had been harassed and devoured by our bunnies, even before the plants got to grow.
A simple chutney made with fresh cilantro/coriander, mint and radish. This is a spicy, savory chutney unlike the fruity pulpy and sweet chutney usually served in America and the European countries.
